More things, More Stuff

So, since I am no longer looking for a place to live, I was able to scout the Craigslist today for toys.

Those of you who know me, know how I am.

I found a couple, and the level of “deal” that both entailed was too high for me to pass up.

First was this gem.

It’s not the best unit in the world. It’s not the smallest unit in the world,

But it was also $100, down from a previously listed CL price of $150. and since I was willing to shell out the extra cash anyway, dropping the price upped its value.

So, yes, I do have 5 other DVD players in this house (computer, PS2, my multi-region, my legacy Apex, and my beloved but sadly broken Pioneer from 98) All came into my home for about the same price or cheaper, and I have a use and need for each (in case you were wondering, the use for the busted Pioneer is, donate or fix it this weekend, and then get rid of)

But $100 for a two year old progressive scan DVD player with SACD and component video out is a deal I simply cannot pass up. Especially with the number of TV seasons I have amonst the 464 titles in Scottflix.

So, I’ll be moving it into the new place as my “primary”, and it will gel nicely with this.

Also, $100. You might even say that the two are made for one another, because pretty much, they are.

Much like how all of the Pioneer components I have now are perfectly aligned to work as one.

But I digress. The gent listing the receiver got it for free when he moved into his new home. It was left behind by the previous owner, since he didn’t think he should take down the ceiling mounted speakers he had set up.

WEll, d’uh!

I was not the first respondent for this machine, but a cleverly applied extra $25 moved me right up to the top of the list. And, my willingness to deal and be dealt also helped me avoid a nasty shipping charge, and possible problem with not being homeness as I move. Plus, I was able to finagle a paypal payment using a CC, making the purchase an even better deal all around.

Because he’s coming into Seattle tomorow, and will deliver it right to my doorstep.

From Arlington.

Sometimes, being me is the bee’s knees. The rest of the time, it sucks. but right now, it’s pretty awesopme.

Also, I have a spare, working, pretty kickass DVD player for the first Seattle friend that speaks up.
