A few years ago, I swore I was done with fantasy baseball. It was eating away at my day's productivity, changing the way I looked at the game, interfering with my social arrangements, and detracting from my general enjoyment of baseball. But my friends Dale and Rich (who might be even bigger geeks than I, at least as far as baseball is concerned), came to me with a chance to join their league, which focused more on the individual accomplishments and talents of the players, rather than the proclivities of a distant commissioner. At least that's what they are telling me. So I'm taking the plunge again, and we'll see what happens. I plan to document the season two ways, the first being as a regular, rabid fan, and the second as an astute, points minded sabermatrician. We'll see what happens, especially at the all-star break.
