Game 2:
I really don’t know what’s worse.
(a) A starting pitcher that blows a 4 run lead;
(b) A starting pitcher that blows the 3-run rally his team spots him the next inning;
( -c ) A reliever that blows every big game into which he is inserted;
or (d) An Umpire who can’t find the strike zone.
The answer is somewhere between (d), and (e) All of the above.
The Freaking umpire is out of control. If I was the Mariners, or the Yankees, for that matter, I’d file a protest with the league, and the union.
In a Qwestec stadium, after all.
Then I might beat him into unconsiousness with a corked bat. I’ll pay the fine, take the suspension. But the fool WILL see the zone as written.
13 freaking innings. This is the 6th game this year in which the Mariners have provided free baseball to the masses. They are now 5-1 in such contests.
But I’d much rather they win in 9. Or at all, for that matter.
Ichiro takes his hitting streak to 14, and his consecutive multi-hit game streak to 4 (17 on the year).
Yay, Ichiro. The Mariners, however, are 6 and 8 over the same period.
Boo Hoo for me. M’s win in 13, with a 6 run top of the 13th.
But again, I’d rather win in 9.
