Freaking Water

So, there’s a slight condensation build-up in my refrigerator that I’ve been meaning to talk to my landlords about. Basically, the freezer works really, really well, and water collects on the plastic overlay that is also the top of my fridge cabinet.

Causing a slow, but steady drip over the contents of the icebox.

Not too big of a deal, since I really have no food in there except beverages and condiments. But there is a puddle of water waiting in the middle of my floor when I get home , and a pizza box got soaked over the weekend. That made me sad.

And Hungry.

So when they get back from wherever they are, I was going to talk to them about getting it fixed.

Just now, I went to the bathroom and noticed a giant brown puddle in the middle of my kitchen. This could not possibly be caused by the condensers, and I was more than a little upset about its possible source. I’ve lived in basement apartments before, and being below ground level can have some interesting side effects when compared to the location of the septic tank.

Thankfully, the bathroom was dry, clean, and nothing smelled out of the ordinary.

Then, I looked up at the sink, and noticed that there was dirt all over my counter.

And the wall.

And the windowsill.

Coming right from the window itself, which is partially obscured on the outside by a thick bunch of vines.

Which someone was watering tonight, and sharing the love with my kitchen floor. It happens that the last time I opened the window (yesterday, while I was grilling), I didn’t close it properly, and I invited dirt and water into my kitchen.

Joy.

I’m definitely calling the owners tomorrow, and getting both problems fixed.

But damn. This really sucks.
