One song that’s been resonating a lot with me lately is, “Peaceful, Easy Feeling,” by the Eagles.
The words, the music, the sentiment, speak to me of a simpler world. A world of trust, love, and happiness. His words to her tell her that nothing she can do can upset him, or disappoint him. He’s there for her, and knows what she has to offer. He also admits that he wants to maximize whatever time he has with her, not knowing what tomorrow will bring.
I’d like to live my life that way. Whenever the song comes up in my music que, I almost always listen to it twice. I’m not quite hopeless, but I believe in that sort of thing. Go figure.
One of the other things that I like about the song is that it is performed by real instruments (guitars, bass, and drums, along with melodic voices), not synthesized. It’s honest, and real. When I hear it, I feel that the Eagles mean what they are saying.
