No news

Amazingly so. Save for those things not suitable for this space, those not able to be talked about in any venue, and those things having nothing at all to do with me, nothing has really changed.

Baseball season has ended, and it’s time to retire another cap. This year’s model has no opening day patch, and is in fact identical in every way to the hat from several years ago. The only change is the record I’ll inscribe, 69-93.

Exactly reversed from the 2003 cap. Go figure. Who wants to come out next year? Plenty of good seats left.

In this last season, I’ve purchased 6 new caps, and found or received 5 others through various means. One of them on Thursday, and this last chapeau is so amazingly comfortable, I may never buy another.

Unfortunately, it smells. Smells quite bad actually, an unfortunate side effect of the very black dye used on the wool. On the bright side, I haven’t been sleeping of late, and the smell doubles as smelling salts during the day.

Who knew?

Side note: 2003 was one of the happiest years of my life. 2004 (record of 63-99), not so much. I didn’t think I could hurt that much again, but I got over it. And not just in the baseball world, although that sucked big time. Good things happened eventually, and I picked up a whole new group of friends. That’s no mean feat, and the “not”-suck continues through 2005.

So far.
