5 earl;y morning questions

1.As a former barista, I must ask this one: what’s your drink and where do you get it?

Venti Soy Chai. If from Starbucks, I request no water. For the next few days, I’ll be geting it from the refridgerator at work

2.I am also car-free. Is there anything that you miss about having a vehicle other than the convenience of leaving on your timetable, not Metro’s?

Moving is a hell of a lot harder. I’ve moved three times in the last three years, and it was a real pain in the ass. there are still boxes over at Strand’s place, but not for very much longer (latest move happened in May/June)

3.Wireless is everywhere. The city is even putting it in parks. Is this a bad or good thing?

Information is free. This is a very good thing. And earlier this year, I dated the woman responsible for putting it into the parks. Not for very long, mind you. but long enough to learn all about civic wireless projects.

4.Paperback vs. ebook vs. hardcover: Go!

Personal preference is Paperback, but mainly because I read in bed, and it’s easier to manage. I love hardbound books, and have many. But the paperback succeeds remakably well at its design goal, and I use it often.

5.Christmas morning or Thanksgiving dinner?

Neither? I’m a recovering Catholic with a history of proposing on Christmas Day, or making other bonehead romantic manuevers during the holiday season. Similarly, there are lots of not fun memories associated with Christmas from my childhood. When I considered conversion a few years back, it was in no small part due to this.

Thanksgiving for me usually involves someone else’s family, and football. This year, I’ve been adopted into someone else’s family for a day. Wasn’t given an option for it, I was told I would be in attendance. Didn’t have the heart to tell them I’m allergic to poultry. Ther will probably be pig, for which I am truly thankful.

Also, the Thanksgiving/Christmas Corridor is just plain inconvenient for me, since I don’t buy gifts, don’t like large gatherings, and am a generally unsociable and depressed person this time of year. Also, I tend to get phone calls I’d rather not get this time of year, which require me to be stable and responsible. Go figure.
