Go ask Alice
My friends, I have done an impossible thing before breakfast.
Well, clearly it was possible, since I did it. But it was pretty freaking cool.
I just wrapped up a cycle of the plan, and my intent was to take this week “off,” hoping to maintain Friday’s weigh-in of 223 1/2 until I start again.
Yesterday was Mark and Meghan’s wedding, the happiest I’ve been in far longer than I can remember. I drank, I DANCED, and I ate. And completely out of the blue, I was seated next to a woman who was on the same meal plan. We had some interesting and situationally forced conversation (she’s just over the cap, and despite her friend’s best efforts, not really my type), and I jokingly brought up that I was not going to use the plan this week, depending on how much weight I gained during the reception.
Since the answer is negative 1.5 lbs, I’m feeling pretty good about the entire affair.
And I danced. I’ve not done so in ages, and a large reason for it was that I was very self conscious about the extra weight. The other portion of avoidance was because of the knee pain, but enough Merlot makes that disappear pretty fast.
I need more weddings, and soon. These skinny people clothes that I bought aren’t going to wear themselves.
PS. Are you ready for some football?
