200 Zero Zero, party’s over
Blah, blah.
Today we weigh in at 199. I haven’t seen the short side of 200 since 1993, when I was trying desperately to go the other way. This here Vegan diet is really working, but another 6 days of it will have me in stitches.
Thing’s I’ve noticed in 5 days off the flesh:
Every joint I have is in Agony. Shoulders, elbows, knees, hips, etc. My spine feels fine, but I also receive regular chiropractic care. Sleeping at night is a tossy-turny excercise that makes me a tad on the irritable side, not to mention more than a little bit tired.
Soy products are more often than not really Bread products. For me, Bread is Bad. Although my particular case is mild, it is uncomfortable, and itchy. Itchy is by definition Irritable.
My Bowels are moving. A lot. This was actually one of the things I was hoping for (a clearing out of the system), but it’s inconvenient. I was pretty regular before, this is about a 30% increase in production.
Ew.
I’m really glad that I like Nuts, I’ll say that for free. So far, it’s been Macadamia nuts every day, with their waxy, salty goodness. A nice switch up of cashews, and the ocassional bout of mixed nuts lead to gas and cramping. Bleh.
But damnit, I’m healthy and shit.
So, this week I also worked a crazy amount of hours getting my office ready for a move across town. Some folks just didn’t put in the effort required to get things done, so it fell to the “firemen” (plural intended) to pick up the slack. Also, I was working on three other big projects that I can’t talk about, and the priority shifting was a lot of fun.
Basically, it was every other October I’ve spent at WizKids, but turned to 11. Because not only do we have a new corporate Philospohy, I no longer have staff. And let me tell you, Minions make everything go better. I’d really like to not be the only guy with the answer every so often. Not only is it draining, but sometimes things have to go on the back burner that I’d prefer to work on first. I’m working on several things that might make it easier, but it’s no guarantee that I myself will not be working just as hard.
For frame of reference, the last time things were reorganized to make my job “better,” I got unpromoted, fired, my department was dissolved, and it took 3 months to hire 2/3 of the personnel they said would do the same job I did. 3 months after that, half the company was asked not to come in to work the next day.
Good times.
But enough pity party for Bhagwan. Did I mention 199 lbs?
