I am the Modren Man
I have the internets, my coffee, and a dwindling fistfull of flu pills.
Rocking this headache, stuffy head fever so I can rest so hard, it hurts.
Plus, working. I have access to all my files, paper versions of same, and a burning desire not to lose any time.
Which, I’m going to lose anyway, given the resource constraints on other members of the company.
What bliss.
In other news, I turned on the heat in my front room last night. It was scary efficient. I shudder to think how much that extravagance cost me, but I should be getting a power bill this month, for comparison of the “happier” times of summer. I haven’t had to pay a heating bill in almost 4 years, so this should be interesting.
Things in my favor:
I’m on the “top Floor”, so I get radiated heat from both the basement boilers, and the draw off from the washer/dryer downstairs.
Plus, large windows, which trap the heat. And a healthy selection of home electronics.
And thermostats that work.
Things >not< in my favor: Large Picture windows that radiate heat. I'm hoping the blinds, and management of them will help. my desire not to turn on the heat. Given the prevalence of sick plaguing me this season, this one will go the way of the dodo in short order. But as I only expect to heat one room (the big one), I should be able to manage it. I think. I do have a nifty new sweater/hoodie, which I've been pretty much living in this last week. And then there's my big ass bathrobe. out of words. Back to making coffee now.
