Chapter 5

Is finished.

The Inquisitor now has a voice. Two, in fact, but I’ve now given him a full personality as well, and heightened both his menace and his mystery.

Frankly, he scares the hell out of me.

And he’s not the Main Villain.

I’m ready to start writing again.

+2600 words tonight, and nothing is “pending” in the journal. Just shy of 60K actual production, with my first draft goal still at around 94K, with a 120K target manuscript. In fact, I feel good enough about these five chapters that I am tempted to submit them, in whole or in part. But I will wait at least until after RadCon, a promise I should keep.

Zealots are very interesting to write. From both sides of the plot. I hope the pacing of this chapter survives an editor who is not me. There are very precise time cues that need to be there, to bring a few more chapters later on to better focus.

I go to eat Chicken now. Day Three ends well.
