Media Trip Report – THE NEWSROOM (Season 2, episodes 4-6)

(Originally published on facebook, November 26, 2022)

TL:DR; DUDE!

Content begins.

What the hell did I just watch?

I know it was television/Art, I know it was prime Sorkin, but what the hell?

I liked it. I nearly wrote this post based on episode 4 alone, but episode 5 made me want to track someone down and stomp on their neck, because DUDE!

I’m going to break with a week-old tradition here and mention that episode 5’s A-story references the murder of Trayvon Martin. The B and C stories are my DUDE! points.

And there’s so much Dude.

The editing of this episode is perfect. It’s on point, and hits me right in my feels.

Dude.

DUDE!

What the hell did I just watch?

Episode 6 also happened, and DUDE did it ever. It’s going to take me a while to process, but based on the featured actors involved I know the hell what was happening back in episode 1.

But DUDE.

P.S. , Aaron Sorkin, you leave Sloan Sabbith alone!

Episodes 7-9 tomorrow, and I’ll stream Season 3 starting Monday.

Because DUDE!
