Opening day
Roll call: Scott Magner, Rick Pfeil, Anaheim Angels, Seattle Mariners
Final Score: Angels 10, Mariners 5; wallet – $ a lot; Roto= crying, tears, and pain. Roof = open
The Ricker and I have now partnered up two years in a row for opening day. No tailgating
this year, but we did grab some lunchables. This was my first visit to the seats, and we were favorably impressed.
Although we almost didn’t make the game in time, as Rick’s mercantile heart had us pass up prime parking,
in the quest for something cheaper. 40 minutes later, we lucked into street parking, but it took some tight maneuvering to get his car in. (no tickets, whew)
In the park, we pay our respects to the man, and to our seat attendant (Tony). Remember kids,
tip your waitresses and bar staff.
Mindy was up high, and it was good to see the Lewises and Thompsons. She waved and everything.
There are no words for the carnage that ensued. We survived, but barely.
Later, we discovered that there is some law in Washington state that prohibits a bartender (or bar) from serving more than one beverage at a time to a patron.
This just floors me, for I have been ordering multiple drinks in multiple bars
for most of my adult life. So, when I order a Margarita
and a beer I am only allowed to have one of these. Mind you, a beer
and a shot is okay, and a Cocktail and a shot is okay. And further, “2 beers please,” will yeild the desired results.
At least she bought us a drink, to make up for it.
(for the record, I’ve never again had this difficulty.)
Record= Scott 0-1, Rick 0-1, Mindy 0-1 (she was there, might as well count it)
