Feh (Game 50)
I’ve been trying all day to get even a single person interested in going to the Mariners game with me. Normally, I have a pretty good target base for a Friday night, but almost every M’s fan I know has gone off camping this weekend, or already has tickets. And although the temptation is strong, I’m really not comfortable with calling any of mine or Mark’s exes tonight.
And no one else is interested. I know a largely employed, and overly dedicated bunch of people. All of which are behind on their projects. I used to be them, so I understand.
Honestly, I wish I had their problems right now.
I’ve given up. I’m staying in tonight, and watching the game on my large and pretty Television. It beats the hell out of dealing my tickets off for hot dog money downtown.
Luckily, a friend of mine from Everett has agreed to go to the next two games, so I’m not a complete recluse this weekend. And Mark is going through his rolodex right now. All is not lost, but apathy reigns in this town.
*Update*
M’s lose, again. The game was relatively close, until I started watching it full-time. M’s were still losing, but it was close.
That didn’t last long. On the bright side, Bret Boone’s renewed power stroke is increasing his trade value, and I didn’t have to listen to Ron Fairly blather all night. Not only did Boone drive in both runs (one with a massive, bat flipping double. Again), but Edgar got a nice shot in as well.
Yaaay, Edgar.
And, I didn’t have to listen to Ron Fairly blather.
I did, however, have to see Moyer completely melt down, with two moon shots deposited into the stands. Remember last year, when people could not hit at Safeco?
Guess that Batter’s Eye upgrade was the “right” move to make.
