$&^%$$^%$, !
So, here’s my day. I say day, because I just crossed the 24 hour mark.
I could not sleep at all last night. I was tired, and still am. But I could not cross over. Insomnia has me, and it won’t let me go.
Last night, the Mariners had a typical game. That is to say, they were ahead, then behind, then ahead, and then lost it in the ninth.
And, of course, a Mariners pitcher on my Roto roster goes on the DL.
Right.
Before.
The Game.
My mood has not improved. I listen to the game (I could not bear to watch it after the 2nd inning) while talking to an old friend, and playing some games online. In the other room, the VCR merrily records Stargate (both flavors), so that I may watch it afterwards. Or today, which was the original plan.
And then, as mentioned before, I can’t sleep.
I play games until I can barely sit up, trying for exhaustion.
Nope.
I read until I run out of book.
Nada.
Still awake.
I trudge downstairs, hoping that more game play, and a potential food coma, will do the trick. I prepare the couch, and the day bed for my eventual collapse.
Nothing.
After a hot, cleansing shower, I discover that the Mariners game is on at 1 PM today, not 7 PM. Crap. Might as well stay up now. But more gameplay just doesn’t seem warranted. What’s a over-tired insomniac to do?
Wait! I know, I’ll watch Stargate. Yeah, that will bridge 2 hours easy. Then, I’ll have lunch, and fall asleep watch the game.
Double Nope. I appear to have recorded only the last 2 minutes of the first hour. No problem. A timer mishap, easily rectified, as the first hour will be shown again after the second. The timer is set for two hours, the start time must have gotten pushed back an hour.
But wait, there’s more. Or rather, there isn’t. Because 1 minute into the second show, the recording stops.
Stops.
No Stargate.
No hope.
No sleep.
If you are reading this. please come over here and hit me in the head with a large rock. I could probably use the rest.
