Sigh
“King” Felix Hernandez.
He appears to be the real deal. And somehow, that makes me sad, since I can just imagine how good he would have been if he’d stayed in Tacoma another two months, and joined the rotation next year with a clean slate.
But watching him face off against the Unit as something I’ll never forget. It was the feeling that I get everytime I see the Rocket or D-train pitch. Simply amazing.
Unlike the M’s, who somehow have assembled a worse team than last year(while spending more), although the standings do not reflect this. I read last night that we (they) have not had a “winning” month since September 2003, and haven’t posted a positve record in August since 2001.
Sigh. Sometimes, loving baseball is like having a disobedient dog. You can yell at it, but ultimately, there’s nothing you can do to change what it is. Lucky for me, I can remember all the fun times, when the dog would chase the ball/stick/frisbee/object of choice, and return with its tail wagging, instead of between the legs.
