…and Mean

Lean, that is.

I’ve been hovering at +6 for the last 5 days, and I had a suspicion heading though the weekend that it was because of increased lean muscle mass from the walking and working out over the last few weeks.

I was right.

Thoughout the entire process, I’ve been conscious and aware that the lbs themselves are not the important measure, but rather the BMI, waist and Body fat %. When I was seeing the “expected” results continue, remaining in the “skinny” clothes, and maintaining a desireable waistline, I was pleased. But I was more pleased when the waist actually decreased over the weekend, while the scale reports the same.

So, I had to head back through the wayback machine to find the last reported weight AND waistline measure here on BX.com

It was July 2nd. That’s a long time. I’ve measured either one or the other multiple times since then, but have not been running them through the overall calculator.

So, behind the cut are the results.

On 7/2, I reported 166 lbs and 29 inches. Using the handy dandy calculator, that translates to :

BMI: 21.9
WthR: 39.7
Body fat 5%

However, that waist measurement was/is a bit suspect, and I’d really wager it was actually

BMI: 21.9
WthR: 42.5
Body fat 10%

Which corresponds to a “relaxed” 31″, rather than a “comfortable” 29.”

The Former is what I measured today. So at 180 lbs and 31 “,

BMI: 23.8
WtHR: 42.5
Body Fat 8.6%

Which, objectively speaking, means that I am healthier now than I was 5 months ago. Even though I weigh 14 lbs more, and was properly hydrated this morning.

Now I’m really curious as to how many lbs of “gunk” are clogging up my lungs.

Either way, I’m feeling pretty damn good right now.

Also, Incredibly freaking hungry. Time to go load up on fruit and fiber, plus shop for today and tomorrow.
