So close
I was almost there, last night. I had almost 48 pages of Chapter 19 in the bag, and then I needed to stop. Just two sections remained, and all the rest was there.
Chapter 19 is done. The 14K words in those 73 pages bring the manuscript to 145K words total, with one chapter to go.
One long chapter.
C 19 is the most complex and ambitious thing I’ve ever attempted with words, and if it’s not too prideful, I think I nailed it. The penultimate entry is nearly 10% of the entire manuscript, and there was a moment, fleeting but there when I was tempted to end it.
It just seemed right.
The power and flow of C 19 almost makes me ashamed to have written C 2, and I’ll address that issue after I return from the World Con.
For now, I go to ride my bicycle, buy stamps, and gets me some sammich. I’m not at all sure if I’m going to work tomorrow, but I’m sure as Hell done for today.
